ALL ABOUT THE HYPE | TOMMEE TIPPEE PERFECT PREP MACHINE

There are an array of products to chose from when it comes to kitting out your life ready for the arrival of your new addition. There are also a selection of coveted goodies which are considered essentials to making your baby raising experience a hell of a lot easier. As a first time Mum I can safely say I am a sucker for any products that make life better and more convenient but when it comes down to it, are these pricey pieces actually worth the hype? Over the next few weeks I'll be filling in the gaps as to what I think to the top selling baby products and if they are really as good as they say.

On today's agenda is the highly controversial Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep Machine. Although not loved by all, it is still one of the top products on a lot of first time Mums wishlists and with a hefty RRP of £120 you can't help but wonder why.

The Perfect Prep aims to ease your formula preparation by producing a perfectly heated bottle within 2 minutes. Easy, simple and just what you want as a first time Mum during a long shift of night feeds.

I will admit that I was the one who insisted on the Perfect Prep - even after watching that episode of Watchdog, I wasn't swayed and knew I needed one in my kitchen to survive. Kieran wasn't as convince but begrudgingly bought me one. After Theo came home he is now a complete convert and loves it just as much as me. I know other people may have different views on its safety etc but we are 3 weeks into constant use and Theo is still alive and most of all happily fed!

PRO'S
- Easy to use: You literally add the formula, press a button which produces the hot shot, shake it up, then press the button again and voila! Ready to feed.

- Convenient: If you've got a screaming baby at 3am, waiting for a kettle to boil and then formula to cool can feel like a lifetime. With this you have a bottle ready to go in under 5 minutes.

CON'S
- You can't make less than 4oz: Not a massive flaw in the grand scheme of things but this was the only thing that really inconvenienced me. As Theo is a teeny baby, he doesn't drink as much. So when we first bought him home he was only just drinking 1oz....which left 3oz wasted. Unless your comfortable with storing in the fridge  and using a few hours later (Kieran wasn't hmph!) you'll go through formula at an alarming rate!

- The beep is a little loud: Now this is me being really picky but if I had to dig and find something the beeping that tells you the steps are complete is a tad loud. A machine that caters for a sleeping newborn should not be loud.

- Expensive filter: Although any standard filter does fit, Tommee Tippee does recommend using their own filter. This needs replacing once a month on average - at around £10 a filter this isn't always an added expense you want/need.

BUT IS IT WORTH IT?
I personally think that this is one of the best products out there - for those who are interested anyway! I know that they are not for everyone which is perfectly fine too! - but in the name of science I've tried to dig into the negative as well as the positives but I just can't find any which would stop me from using it! I think if you want convenience and are formula feeding this bad boy should be on your list.

*This product was bought by me and was not gifted. All opinions are my own.
