After the last installment of "All about the hype" - you can read my review on the covetted Perfect Prep Machine here - we move on to the next product in this series: Ewan the Dream Sheep. This little ball of fluff has been praised for helping aid babies sleep - as well as their parents - and who wouldn't want that! There are many different varieties of "bedtime womb noise" toys out their but Ewan seems to be the most commercially known. With his fluffy body and strap tail he makes a great addition to any babies bedroom - or pushchair! Retailing at £29.99 he doesn't really break the bank and isn't the most expensive of sleep aids and yes he's undoubtedly cute, but does he actually work miracles?
We've had Ewan in our lives since Theo was around 2 weeks old. I kept meaning to get him through out pregnancy but as you do, kept putting it off as we had plenty of time - HA! He has 4 different sound settings, all with heartbeats in the background to make our little munchkins feel like they are right at home in the womb - when really they are plonked in their carseat on a sideboard somewhere being forced to sleep...yes, I did this.

PRO'S
- He's so damn cute: Honestly, look at that little face.
- The harp setting: Oh my, when I put this on for him it even sends me to sleep through the baby monitor.
CON'S
- Battery life: Make sure you invest in a crap load of Duracell's as Ewan needs a lot of energy and the last thing you need is running downstairs in the middle of getting your angel off to sleep because Ewan the miracle sheep fancied a nap.
- You have to use him from the beginning: Not so much a con but the miracle of Ewan is actually due to your baby being exposed to that certain sound over and over again when it's time to sleep. I know for some babies it has worked straight away but others it has taken a couple of weeks.
BUT IS IT WORTH IT?
All in all, Ewan is a pretty cool invention and he does help Theo to sleep at night but it only really seems to work on him when he's overtired and needs that little push to relax him. A track of rain sounds from Spotify tends to work just as well. He's definitely a nice to have but if you can't afford him white noise sounds on your phone tend to do the job.
