WHEN YOUR SUDDENLY WITHOUT A HOME: WHAT TO DO IF YOU FIND YOURSELF HOMELESS
The back end of 2018 was a little bit of a slap in the face for my little family and I. In the summer, the landlord which I rented my house from decided that, without any warning, they wanted to gain possession of their house. Myself, as a single parent with no job, who was still paying off debts from the move to the current household less than 1 year previous, was given 2 months to ship out and find somewhere else to live. Now if you've lived in rented accommodation you know that you need a little pot of money behind you to do this. I did not have this. It also came to my attention that even if I could source the money, 90% of the agencies/landlords would not accept me as I was relying on benefits at that time. I was stuck. 8 months on from receiving the letter and we now have a lovely, permanent residence through a housing association but the transition was not easy. However, after spending most of the 6 months I was without a fixed address Googling for advise on everything I thought writing a post about my experience might help someone, somewhere, in some way.
BABY FREE CHILL DAY @ CHAMPNEYS SPRINGS DAY SPA
I am a firm believer that every Mum (and Dad, I'm not bias here!) needs time to wind down and to remember what life was like before they had a tiny toddler clinging to their thigh and slobbering all over them - god love them though. Fortunately, for my birthday my lovely boyfriend volunteered to keep the small one alive for the day whilst I did some serious relaxing. So off I trotted, gym gear, swimwear and book in hand ready for the kind of peace and quiet I had craved for a year and half.
THEO | 18 MONTHS
Wow! The last post I wrote about Theo was back in October when he was 10 months old. It contained his love of his jumperoo and how he had started standing up. How things change! Now this little chatterbox won't stop walking or talking! So here, is our 18 month update for my crazy one and half year old. My mucky faced munckin is no longer a baby.
PLANNING A 1ST BIRTHDAY PARTY - AND WHAT I LEARNT FROM IT
I attended a lot of 1st birthday parties last year and since I didn't have a baby shower or a Christening I decided to go ahead and celebrate Theo's 1st birthday big. But obviously, as birthdays of all ages do, it didn't exactly go to plan.
A FRESH START
Sometimes in life, you feel the need to reinvent. Like getting a new hair cut that you instantly regret or taking up a new hobby that you give up after 2 weeks. Fortunately for me, refreshing my blog is a lot easier than refreshing myself.
THEO | 10 MONTHS
Happy 10 months (and Happy Halloween! Which is why we've got a little dressed up for this months baby spam!) I cannot believe in 2 months time I will have a 1 year old...holy mother of god. I'm going to keep the intro short and sweet and crack on with the main event.
THEO | 9 MONTHS
*Ok so I've had this post written up for almost a month and it seemed a shame to not post it even though he's almost 10 months so here it is.
It's been a busy month since I last posted anything at all. Theo and I are now settled into our new home and our new life as a duo. A lot has changed since his 7 month update - yes I skipped month 8, lets just brush over that one - with Theo as well as in our lives and every day is amazing watching him learn and grow! Apart from the lack of sleep, that bit isn't so amazing! Oh and the tantrums.
