For Easter this year, my Mum and Dad treated us to a day out as a family, all together. They had taken Theo to West Midland Safari Park last year and he’d loved it, even with his limited vocabulary of ANIMALS and ROAR. I’m pretty sure that neither Tom or I have been to a safari park before so we were probably just as excited for this day out too. All 5 of us with tea flasks in toe and a bulky car seat squeezed into my Dads car at 8am ready for the trip. Although it’s only an hour or so’s drive from our house we wanted to get there mega early to make the most of the animals!
We decided to be the first at the gates to avoid the crazy drivers and so we could make the most of the animals and then see the rest of the park. Once we we're in the safari park I was completely in awe. I have never been so close to animals. I mean, I understand the concept of a safari park but I honestly didn't realise how close I would be to a real life lion that could rip the door off the car and eat me. That being said, being able to feed actual giraffes was one of the most amazing experiences in my life. Any where you can feed giraffes without paying £80 for the privilege is a win in my book!
Once we had toured the safari, and they had cleared the traffic caused by Theo refusing to leave the giraffes (*me, it was me!), we headed into the park itself where we saw some Penguins, Meerkats and Hippo's! All big wins with Theo currently!
After touring the animals we headed to the park for Theo to burn off some steam before lunch. As we used to be avid Cbeebies watchers we loved the park with Boj! but it's also a bloody good park for all ages with a play area, a bouncy trampoline, a music area and dome tunnels!
We then nipped for some grub at Burger Co. who made the yummiest burgers I've ever eaten! The chips were brilliant too.

To sum up, this is the best place on Earth. Or at least in the Midlands! For the same price that we could go to a slightly over-rated Zoo in the area, we could travel a little bit further and touch giraffes! I'm not quite sure what could beat that. Thank you West Midlands Safari Park for all that you do.
